  1. In my family, keeping the Feasts of the Lord has gone a long way in evangelism to Jewish people in our lives. In my experience, it is the way to “provoke Israel to jealousy.” They see the Feasts as theirs. Why are Christians worshipping on those days?!? The scriptures continually refer to the Feasts as the “Feasts of the Lord,” rather than the “Feasts of Israel.” They are His appointed times. My Jewish acquaintances are fascinated by non-Jewish Christians who keep the Feasts. Whether you think that Christians ought to do so or not, it certainly works from an evangelistic standpoint, opening many strategic doors of conversation with effortless ease.

  2. I HAVE A NATIVE BORN sabra as a coworker. WE were out of town on a bussiness trip I found a Kosher eatery and paid forour dinner. HE HADN’T HAD ANY MEAT IN DAYS AND REALLY APPRICIATED MY EFFORTS.
Typing on phone. FORGIVE MY CAPS PLEASE

  3. Joel,
That was so good. A Very succinct, balanced, well explained & Gospel-centric explanation of the subject. I will definitely be forwarding an email with a link to this video to some friends/brethren I know. Good stuff. The video uploaded onto YouTube is apparently loaded with like 20 commercials woven throughout & I can’t get the search on Vimeo to come up with it? What’s a good direct link to the video I can email out to some friends?

    God Bless,
    Jeff

  4. Never mind, I found it in Samuel’s Vimeo postings under “How do we truly love Israel?” ??

  5. Thanks Joel. For some reason, when I did a Vimeo search, it wouldn’t find it? Either way, I’m good now. ?

  6. Hello Joel. Thank you for this video. I have some experience bringing the gospel to the Jews. We should be very humble when we approach them with the gospel because of their history and first show them our love and point to Yeshuah from the prophecies of the tanach. A very very good book to understand the history and thinking of the jewish people is the book “Why Me?” from Jacob Damkani. He is a messianic Jew who grew up religious and came to faith by someone who showed him the prophecies pointing to Yeshuah. https://trumpetofsalvation.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Why-Me.pdf

  7. The people of Israel and the entire middle east truly do need our prayers now. With the passage of this UN resolution, on the eve of Hannukah/Christmas, the International Community has just stamped and validated an Arab Muslim Jihad against Israel. Barack Obama helped engineer this UN resolution, which officially declares that the Temple Mount and the holiest sites in Judaism and Christianity, as well as all of east Jerusalem, shall never belong to Israel.

The timing of all this is incredible, as the Syrian civil war is coming to its end, the attention of the world will once again turn to Israel. Israel will have to fight for its right to exist now. The Psalm 83 war is imminent…

  8. Joel,
In the article on Psalm 83, you state that Bozrah = Petra. I think those are distinct places, aren’t they? Ancient Bozrah is next to modern day Buseirah I believe…
Feel free to correct me if I am wrong! I enjoyed the article as I had not seen it before!
P.S. OneKing is on my bucket list!!! I would like to go with my family. We are waiting to raise the money though. Too many bills right now!

  9. Will you be willing to change your viewpoint when you see Hezbollah, Hamas, ISIS, and Muslim armies from the north, south, and east all unite together to fight against Israel, roundabout them on every front?

What we have before us now is precisely the Psalm 83 scenario, and I believe it will also result in the fulfillment of Isaiah 17 and Ezekiel 28:24-26. We are on the verge of an imminent bloody end to all these decades of Arab-Israeli conflict. I understand that is not the view you have held in the past. But these events are going to play out right before our eyes very soon and it will become increasingly difficult to deny their clear scriptural connections.

  10. Reply to Fabian Kurt
Thank you so much Fabian for the pdf download to the Why Me Book.
I am looking forward to reading this Book so as to have a greater understanding for Israel.
Thank you also Joel for the brilliant video, look forward to more.

  11. “HickChick”

The notion that ISIS is about to form a united alliance with Hezbollah is simply not reality. These groups are mortal enemies. ISIS considers them to be worse than infidels. According to Bill Salus, (who I consider a friend) the “Psalm 83 War” does not merely represent disparate groups such as ISIS, Hezbollah, Hamas, etc, but the actual invasion of Israel by the nations of Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia along with the Palestinians. According to Salus, Israel will not only utterly defeat all of these nations, but also go on to occupy them before Jesus returns. There is simply no basis for this in Scripture. Besides, the idea that Israel has any desire, intention, or even the ability to occupy all of these nations is just silly.

The context of Isaiah 17 is the end of the tribulation. A careful reading of the context will show that it pertains not merely the destruction of Damascus, but also northern Israel, which it refers to as Ephraim. It states that the peoples of the Galilee will be as sparse as a couple of olives after the harvest and gleaning. This is not imminent. This describes the end of the tribulation.

The context of Ezekiel 28:24-26 is during the age of the Messiah, not in this present age. The phrase, “then they will know I am the Lord” is consistently used throughout Ezekiel Prophecy to refer to the final coming of Israel to the Lord at the end of the tribulation when Jesus returns. Notice that identical phrases are used at the end of the oracles of chapters 38 and 39, (Battle of Gog and Magog).

I hope this has helped. The Scriptures must be our standard, not prophecy books or prophecy teachers.

    Many Blessings,
    Joel

  12. There should be no doubt in anyone’s mind as to the bias of the UN. It is reported, that in 2016 they passed 20 anti Israel resolutions, while only passing four against other countries:

    North korea=1
    Syria =1
    Iran =1
    Russia =1

    https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.foxnews.com/world/2016/12/27/un-resolution-is-one-dozens-rebukes-against-israel-in-2016.amp.html

Unfortunately, the UK voted in favour of this latest one. Its very easy to see just how Israel will become ‘Forsaken’.

  13. Ah Joel, but aren’t you a prophecy teacher who writes prophecy books? So should I be listening to you or not listening to you? Hmmm… For the record, I have never read a single Bill Salus book. I have always tried to let the scriptures speak for themselves.

Your answer for everything always seems to be to defer all prophecies to Daniel’s 70th week and the Millennium. I have a different view. I believe that there are some OT prophecies which will be fulfilled just prior to Daniel’s 70th week, and that the scriptural context of those passages fits this view just fine. I also believe that the redemption of Israel will happen in stages, not just at the end of the Tribulation.

We obviously could go round and round about our differing interpretations of scripture all day, but I have an honest and very relevant question for you… Do you not think that this UN resolution is going to result in a great war for the holy land? If you do not think that it will, then why? What do you think will happen now? If you do think that there will be a war, do you not think that this war might correlate with some prophetic passages of scripture? If so what scripture is?

  14. HickChick,

The job of any Bible teacher is to simply highlight what the Scriptures state. To the degree that I deviate from this, I hope folks will not listen to me. You avoided addressing the problems I cited both with regard to the realities on the ground and the texts you cited. I’ve detailed my perspectives numerous places, in my books, and on my show, etc. I cannot detail that all again here. I personally expect some wars to unfold between Iran and Turkey before there is any regional unified invasion of Israel. I hope you will look afresh at the passages you referenced and reconsider their context. In the end, God knows best.

    Blessings,
    Joel

  15. Hickchick,

I did not post your comment for obvious reasons. I do my best to answer questions here when folks have genuine questions. Unfortunately, many come simply looking to start arguments or to lecture. I now see that you fall into this latter category. Being rude, condescending, and argumentative is a waste of time for everyone and is certainly not Christlike. In fact, the Bible commands us to avoid such.

    Regards

  16. Hi Joel,
What do you think about the US “allowing” the UN resolution against Israel on the eve of Hanukkah? There seems to be a lot of moving pieces right now in Syria, Iraq and Turkey. With Russia and the US doing this dance, could a war be sparked?

  17. Hi Joel,
I am about to ask you something you will likely label Preterism, it has not always been my view but is beginning to seem right, Zech 14 is the scripture that most site for a further destruction of Jerusalem, could this have already taken place being prophesied by Jesus in Luke 21?
Here s why I ask? Ezekiel 38&39 never mention Jerusalem nor does Rev 19, but rather Har Megiddo some distance from Jerusalem.
A scriptural precedent for my understanding, Jesus quotes from Isaiah 61 in His sermon in Nazareth, He reads,
Luke 4:16-19 And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and as was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read. And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And He opened the book and found the place where it was written, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are oppressed, To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.”
But Jesus omits one phrase from the text, Isaiah 61:2 To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn,
He said this was fulfilled but not completely by leaving out the day of judgement and the comfort it will bring to those who’ve been in morning due to oppression
So we see something being fulfilled because we know Jesus never spoke an idle word, yet He withheld a key part of the verse as being yet future. So too could the destruction of Jerusalem have already happened while His feet splitting the Mount of Olives be yet future?

  18. Hi Clark,

It is important to understand that when Jesus says, “this is fulfilled,” He was not saying that it will not also be fulfilled again in the future. The Hebrew way of interpreting the prophets often allows for interim fulfillments without dismissing the ultimate, or final fulfillment.

As to your larger question, the answer is it is absolutely not possible. I do not mean to be dismissive here. But I can say with all confidence that there is simply far too much clear Scriptural evidence that Jerusalem’s worst days are still ahead. The eschatological context of Zechariah 14 is clear. Likewise Luke 21 is clearly future, though many interpreters have said otherwise. Simply stated, Luke 21 is Luke account of the Olivet Discourse. Jesus only gave one Olivet Discourse. The Olivet Discourse in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21 are all the same. In my book, “When a Jew Rules the World,” I discuss the historical details as to why Luke 21 has to be future and cannot be made to apply to the 1st Century. Essentially by the time the armies surrounded J’lem, if anyone tried to flee they would have been killed or taken prisoner. Therefore if Jesus was talking about the first century, He gave absolutely terrible, horrific advice. I obviously do not believe that to be the case, and I’m sure you do not either. It should also be noted that there is not actually any such thing as Har (Mountain of) Meggido. Many scholars believe that references to Har Meggido, (again which does not exist), is simply a reference to Jerusalem. Forgive my brevity, but any effort to systematically work through the Scriptures and argue that Jerusalem will not in the future be “trampled underfoot” by the Antichrist for “forty two months” (Revelation 11:2) would be to violate numerous texts. See also Daniel 12:1-2 and Matthew 24, as Jesus quotes Daniel 12. Critical, critical texts.

    Blessings,
    Joel

  19. The UN has issued 20 condemnations of Israel this year alone. Its what they do. They are all largely symbolic resolutions. Of course the pressure is increasingly being turned up on Israel and we know the Scriptures say that eventually the Antichrist will attack But this is yet some ways off. A looming regional war involving Russia and Iran is certainly possible, but this would be for Iraq and Syria.
