Update From Kurdistan / Iraq

First, I want to thank everyone who prayed or gave toward the trip to northern Iraq. Ever since the first day that ISIS swept across the region, I’ve been burning to go. My desire has been to minister to both the local believers, as well as the refugees and displaced peoples. I was privileged to partner with Dalton Thomas of Frontier Alliance International and several good friends. Our time was spent visiting refugee camps in Erbil and mountain villages in the north, close to the border of Iran. I also had the opportunity to minister and preach in the largest church in northern Iraq.

Check out these beautiful photographs of the trip taken by my buddy Steve Willis.

Below is a brief four minute video I put together to capture just a hint of what we experienced. The first minute features clips of ISIS from their own videos. There is some mature content.

Below are three dispatches put together by Dalton Thomas of FAI:

  1. Not sure if your family and friends are with you Joel as you venture out into danger but i hope you can draw encouragement through this passage.MATTHEW 10. 37-40

  2. Choked, truly a picture of whats to come. In the west we have to go back to basics, no time for parties.

  3. Praying for full protection, and supernatural blessings to be poured out in abundance in Jesus’ name. Thank you for your obedience to the Great Commission.

  4. Joel, God bless you!

I’m from Brazil. I saw you on TV show Sid Roth for the first time and since then I’m sending your videos on Islam antichrist to all my friends. Unfortunately many have lost interest in the subject and think, “Who is the antichrist this time?”, “This new pope is very nice to not be the antichrist.”

Congratulations on your courage to go to Iraq, beautiful video!

How can I contribute so that more people hear the trumpet?

  5. God bless you Joel, Let our God the provider, defender, protector and all powerful God take care of our sisters and brothers in those that part of the world. We are in prayers for all of you. I leave with Jeremiah 29:11-14.

    God bless.
