With Latest Victory, Assad Has Won the War in Syria

Share:

According to David Francis at Yahoo News.

If this is true and if it holds, we should all be very thankful that the US and the Obama admin failed and Assad succeeded. I say this because our Christian brothers and sisters will be a bit more safe under Assad than they would under a radical Sunni government. Do not stop praying though, as “a bit more safe” is far from ideal. The nation as a whole is devastated, and so are the lives of untold believers. Their suffered has been immense and no doubt will continue to be extraordinarily difficult in the years ahead. On a positive note, we are assured in Isaiah 19:23-25 that a great revival will occur throughout the entire region of Syria, in fact it will sweep across the whole northern swatch of the Middle East from Turkey to Iran. The result will be strong contingent of worshippers of YHVH during the Millennial Messianic reign of Jesus:

In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrians will come into Egypt and the Egyptians into Assyria, and the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians. In that day Israel will be the third party with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of whom the LORD of hosts has blessed, saying, “Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance.”

  1. First Egypt, now this.

This is all delaying the rising of the ten kings.
Do you think that event is decades away?

  2. The events in Ukraine have proven that Neoconservatives are extremely powerful, regardless of administration. Most are not aware that the movement is a child of Trotsky, and among older members he is still worshiped. I think there is a possibility that Daniel 11:38 could refer to them.

The Kremlin is the most famous fortress in the world, and the Bolshevik leader is one of the former occupants. Kremlin is just the Slavic term for a fortified city – Russia actually has over a dozen of them.

I think in the near future there will be another Suez crisis (Daniel 11:45) which the US will lose.

  3. David,

Daniel 8 is very specific about the order of events leading to the rise of the AC but not the years/months in between.

First Iran (the Ram) will charge east, north and south.
Second enraged, Turkey/Egypt and 2 others will counterattack
Then the Sunni Alliance will break into 4 countries which will be part of the ten (remember from Revelation, the Beast from Revelation is a Leopard and has the mouth of a Lion, feet of a Bear) so all the Daniel 8 nations are contained within the Beast.
    Then the ten kings arise
Then finally the ‘little horn” rises out of one of the horns.

Prior to Iran charging out we need to watch for a power shift in Iran. The Ram has two horns but the longer one grew up later. That is the very next step in the time table given us by the Lord.

    Hope that helps.

  4. Hopefully We Can Start To See Some Stability In This Region And Our Fellow Brothers And Sisters In Christ Can Live In Safe Refuge.
I See The This Highway Possibly Being Around The Time Of The Newly Rebuilt Temple. I Believe Many Hearts Will Be Turned To The True God And Away From Allah When It Even Begins Construction.
    Thanks For The Report Joel.

  5. I suppose I am grateful for this Administration’s “incompetence” in foreign policy. However, I just realized that the self-imposed nine-month period for Israel and Palestine to negotiate a final status agreement (a process very much supported by the Administration) just happens end within a few short weeks of the first of the total lunar eclipses that marks the beginning of the 2014-2015 lunar tetrad occurring on the Jewish Feast Days.

Personally, I find this “coincidence” just a little bit disconcerting.

The period for “negotiations” are scheduled to end at the end of April 2014. The first of the lunar eclipses will be on the evening of Passover (April 14).

Currently, there is little reason to believe any agreement will be reached by the end of the self-imposed April deadline. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2014/03/07/palestinian-president-abbas-says-there-is-no-way-hell-recognize-israel-as/

If no agreement is reached, the following may (is likely to?) occur:

    1. Palestine will move forward in the United Nations to have a the boundaries of the Palestinian state established by the UN in accordance with the pre-1967 borders.

    2. Wide spread violence (“Jihad”) will break out all over the world (and particularly in the U.S.) to put pressure on the member nations to pass the U.N. Resolution recognizing the borders of the Palestinian state.

    3. The United States will not exercise its veto but, in fact will support the measure blaming Israel for the failure of negotiations. The Administration has already declared that the pre-1967 borders are the starting point for negotiations (i.e. if no negotiations are successful, then that’s the Administration’s position as to what the borders should be.) http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/what-obama-did-to-israel/2011/05/26/AGJfYJCH_story.html

    4. If the Resolution is passed, Israel will not accept it as the pre-1967 borders are indefensible. Thus, Israel will be forced to fight a war for its very existence, probably invoking (or overtly threatening) some version fo the “Samson Option” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Samson_Option:_Israel's_Nuclear_Arsenal_and_American_Foreign_Policy

This will lead the entire world to the brink of all out nuclear war (WWIII).

Eventually, I believe the major world powers (including the U.S.) will agree to enforce the new border with Palestine to guaranty Israel’s security. This agreement, however, will be short-lived and will actually lead to Armageddon.

Will all this begin in April or May 2014? God knows!

  6. Nelson and John, you both seem to be very confident in your scenarios. Of course, we all have our ideas about how events might transpire in accordance with Scripture, but I wonder how useful it is to pontificate about them at length, and in detail.

Nelson, the ram actually charges WEST, South and North (not East). And where do you see Egypt in Daniel 8? Or a “Sunni Alliance” invading 4 countries? Are you attempting to harmonize the passage with other passages you don’t mention? Keep in mind, in the historical fulfillment, the goat most directly represents Alexander the Great’s lightning campaign across the Middle East from Macedonia, not from Syria/Turkey. So unless you think Greece is suddenly going to engage in hegemonic conquest across the Middle East, the vision in Daniel 8 and it’s historical fulfillment don’t properly align with what you’re describing in the same way that Daniel 11 does. And in Daniel 11, Turkey and Egypt are NOT allies. And what’s to say there has to be a “power shift” in Iran as the next step? If you’re right, what’s to say it didn’t already happen in 1979? I find it better to be cautious and simply watch, rather than try to give some detailed road map to Armageddon.

John, your 4 stepping stones to WWIII and Armageddon are incredibly elaborate. On what basis do you make those predictions? That they seem logical or plausible? We have to be very careful about using human reasoning in these matters. If I came to you in 1999 and told you about everything that’s happened in the 15 years since, would you have even imagined that things would transpire the way they have? A servant who simply continues laboring in the fields and watching for his master is more useful than the servant who spends too much time figuring out the exact timing and route of his master’s return. It’s good to know Scripture so that we know how to watch. Anything more is, IMO, a waste of our time and energy.

  7. Hi Joel:

Have you seen Walid’s post regarding the current refugee crisis in Syria as an eschatological fulfillment of Amos 1:5? If so, what are your thoughts on that?

    http://shoebat.com/2014/03/29/syrian-refugees-crisis-bible-prophecy/

Obviously Amos was prophesying in a contemporary sense about the impending conquest of Aram by the Assyrian Empire. The context also describes the Assyrian’s conquest of other Middle Eastern nations, including Samaria, paralleled in Isaiah 7-8. So it would seem that the general thrust of the passage is more in regards to imperial conquest, rather than a civil war, and any eschatological fulfillment would be better met by Antichrist (unless you consider the foreign FSA/ISIS fighters as representative of the Assyrian, since they are heavily supported by Turkey, but it appears that they are losing the war at this point). Also, I read that Kir is unidentified, but may be near Elam, not Moab, which is where the Arameans originated from, and which would be closer to where the Northern Israeli Kingdom was exiled. Although, I admit, I’m hesitant to challenge Walid’s expert knowledge of Middle East geography.

    Blessings to you,
    Gabe
