Sin, Separation, and Salvation

I found this short blog post to be a well written and cogent exhortation worth meditating upon. It was written by Truman Falkner on his blog Looking Forward.

  1. Coming from one who seeks continuity with the Church Fathers, I view salvation (at least the first letters) to overlap with salve, which is used for healing.

Therefore, because of accountability for all that was broken by Adam & Eve, we just can’t go along like nothing happened. Mistrust and distrust lead to disobedience, and we wound up detoured from the path each of us were to take.

So, while the healing takes place (at least, when we let the Great Physician have his way, instead of us getting in the way), we can get through all the turmoil in Amos chapter 3, and get to verse 3.
