On doomsday asteroids, meteorites and such

Meteorite

A couple articles and posts that I thought were worth sharing regarding the recent spate of fairly significant cosmic activity: The first article, written by my friend Roland Clark was featured on Answering Islam. The other two posts were written by Alan Kurschner on his blog here and here.

  1. Asteroid Apophis will come very close by in 2029, it’s very possible that it will strike the ocean fulfilling the second trumpet blast.

This is how I understand Hosea 6:2
    After two days (i.e. 2000 years) He will resurrect us;
On the third day (the beginning of the seventh millennium)
He will raise us up (from the dead),
that we may live in His sight (in the holy land with Yeshua on earth).

So 2000 years from what? I say from the year the Lord died, rose from the dead and ascended to heaven. 2030 or 2033 depending on what date you go by, so I believe he’ll come some time close to those years because of Hosea 6:2.

I also see other allusions to this, here’s a non-literal prophetic reading of Exodus 19.

And the LORD said… consecrate (the people)… Have them wash their clothes and be ready by the third day because on that day the LORD will come down… …in the sight of all the people (every eye will see him)….Only when the ram’s horn sounds a long blast (seventh trumpet) may they go up (rapture)…” …the people…consecrated… and they washed their clothes. Then he said to the people, “Prepare yourselves for the third day. Abstain from sexual relations.”

(Doesn’t that sound like the virgins in Revelation?)

On the morning of the third day there was thunder and lightning, with a thick cloud over the mountain, and a very loud trumpet blast. Everyone in the camp trembled. Then…the people.. meet with God… smoke, because the LORD (Yeshua) descended (from heave) on it in fire. The smoke billowed up from it like smoke from a furnace, the whole.. …trembled violently (the great earthquake in Revelation), and the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder. The LORD descended to the top of (the) Mount (of Olives)…

  2. I was wondering: Isn’t this increasing “meteorite” phenomenon rather related to Luke 10:18 and Revelation 12:4? Including the “UFO” thing also? If not all of it, at least some part… What do you think?

  3. The way im looking into this is, commets will come and go, asteroids will come and go, Popes will come and go and not discrediting anything said above, Im looking at Israel as the litmus paper to end time events…..heres a list from Matt 24, Yeshuahs words

One Generation will see all these events
    Wars and Rumors of wars
    Seas raging
The abomintion stand in most Holy….

    Zech 1
A question is asked about 70 years of problems that israel is having, and the answer comes back that “I AM” returned……PAST TENSE, meaning that before Israel finishes her 70th birthday I AM returns……that sounds increadibly close to Dan 9, 70 shabuah and 69 shabuah…..if shabuah was to be understood as feast of weeks, therefore another way to look at it would be 70 pentecosts are determined on Israel…….and after 69 pentecosts something is going to happen……

If you all want to look at the eclipses occuring on feast days in 2014-2015, then your awefuly close to 3.5 years out from 2018………

Just looking all too coincidental on my radar….all other events are warnings to keep watching and to prepare……

  4. @James,

    A few things,

    1) it’s Shavua, not Shabua. A lot of people who don’t know Hebrew mispronounce that one.
    2) We won’t know anything for sure until the seven year peace treaty is signed, then we’ll know how much time is left.

  5. I teach the historical grammatical method when reading the bible I believe that when the bible is taught properly the chance of wacky off beam ideas ie being blown about by false teaching is less likely to happen those who are taught the bible in this fashion are less likely to be deceived me thinks
love your books joel you also seem to walk the talk.

  6. No offense, but meteorites have been hitting the earth for thousands of years, this isn’t anything new. The event in 1908 was significantly larger, caused much more damage, and that was over 100 years ago! This isn’t a sign of the end times. One must interpret Revelation through the lens of the entire Bible. Falling stars is not a reference to meteorites in the Bible.
