Watching & Longing For the Return of Jesus Christ

What does the Mahdi, the Antichrist, Karl Marx, and Barack Obama have in common?

Just to be clear, I absolutely do not think that the Obama is the AC. However, he is a radical leftist. Far more left than any previous Presidents have even come close to approaching.

The point of this post is simply to show how easily the world will receive the AC when he does come and how Obama is riding the wave of the spirit of the age to the top even in many ways as the AC will do. And the Emerging Bono-Christianity will be happy to endorse him.

When the richest provinces feel secure, he will invade them and will achieve what neither his fathers nor his forefathers did. He will distribute plunder, loot and wealth among his followers. —Daniel 11:24

The Church Father Irenaeus, (a contemporary of Polycarp who was a disciple of John the Apostle) said that “[The Antichrist] pretends that he vindicates the poor.”

Muhammad said, “In the last-days of my Ummah [universal Islamic community], the Mahdi will appear. Allah will give him power over the wind and the rain and the earth will bring forth its foliage. He will give away wealth profusely, flocks will be in abundance, and the Ummah will be large and honored…” - -Sahih Hakim Mustadrak, related by Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (4:557 and 558), as quoted by Sheikh Hisham Kabbani p. 233

Muhammad said, “In those years my community will enjoy a time of happiness such as they have never experienced before. Heaven will send rain upon them in torrents, the earth will not withhold any of its plants, and wealth will be available to all. A man will stand and say, ‘Give to me Mahdi!’ and he will say, ‘Take.’” –At-Tabarani, Related by Abu Hurayra, as quoted by ‘Muhammad Izzat and ‘Muhammad Arif in The Mahdi, p. 9

I just want to spread the wealth around.” –Barack Obama

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs” –Karl Marx, articulating the principle foundation of communism

    Acts 2:

44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.

  4. Gideon Says:

Are you saying that Obama might be the AntiChrist? The similarities are quite obvious to anyone who knows the scriptures. He very well might be the man who sets the world up for the man of lawlessness to come to power.

  5. water Says:

Joel, you know what might be a nice addition to this article? Seeing what Jesus had to say on such matters. I always find direct contrast very memorable lessons.

I always remember, ‘if you dont work, you dont eat’. Of course we take care of orphans and widows and anyone else in genuine need, but welfare for those who can work was not the Lord’s plan.

  6. Lori Says:

Gideon, I don’t think he is. Although he meets some hadith requirements (light skinned, high forehead, mole on his face, tall, giving out money), he misses some others (long dark beard, appearance of an Israelite). Also, his name isn’t Muhammad, and his parents aren’t Abdullah and Amina, which were also prophesied of the Mahdi in the hadiths.

    Tool of the Antichrist? Yes.

    Antichrist himself? No.

  7. Adam Says:

Now, do I think the Mahdi and the Antichrist are the same person, I believe so. However, I think we need to look for him to fit biblical prophecy instead of koranic.

    Joel,

Are you playing with the thought that Barak Obama just maybe the antichrist.
I myself would think that he isn’t, but the way people flip out over hom and the way the media glorifies him the thought does cross my mind.

  8. water Says:

I did not read Joel’s comments to mean that Barak is the AC, but rather that he aligns well with what we know is coming.

  9. stefen Says:

I have been coming to this website for years and am very grateful for all the work you have put into it, but I have to say that I am tired of the Obam bashing. Obama can not be the Anti-Christ. The Anti-Christ will be from the area of the ancient Seleucid Empire. Obama’s heritage is of Kenya, which is in Africa. He is obviously not the Anti-Christ. He is also not an Arab that is a direct descendent of Fatima. So can we please get off of this unscriptural speculating train? Obama does not fit the biblical measurements.

  10. Gideon Says:

    stefen,

You are specifically stating that the AC will fit into what Islamic tradition states. While they are similar, I am looking directly at the Bible, the only true word of GOD.

I’m not saying Obama is the AC, but some aspects of him do match up with scripture on the AC.

    1. Will gain immense power, but not by his own power, Obama has yet to win an election under his own power. Remember he was not elected as nominee for the Democrat party, Hillary was, he was picked by the “Super Delegates.”

    2. He will come promising peace.

    3. He will redistribute wealth.

    4. Since he is the man of sin, I would assume he would be conceived in sin, which Obama was.

    5. He will be stearn faced, that case can be made.

    6. He will not be a Christian, that is evident. He has even shown his disdain for people hat have faith in God by calling us closed minded and “clinging to our faith.”

    7. He will come from the Middle East portion of the Roman Empire. The case could be made if we looked into his ancestors. He is part Kenyan, and Kenya was ruled by the Omani Arabs for centuries. It is possible his ancestors could have settled in Oman and later in Kenya. It is a stretch, but possible.

    8. It is traditionally stated that the AC will have the masses fall in love with him and look to him as a savior. That is obvious.

    9. He is a huge supporter of homosexuality and infanticide. These two items are so ungodly the AC will support them.

    10. I’ve read that his name actually means Barrack - Lightening, Hussein - Blessed, Obama - Leaning towards. So his name means Leaning towards blessed lightening. Luke describes Satan’s fall from heaven as like lightening. Interesting fact: Mohammad’s horse’s name was Al Barack. Remember, he changed his name to Barrack, he grew up as Barry. Prbably a stretch, but interesting….

Many of these might be a stretch, but I don’t believe in coincidences.

Did anyone know the Democrats had a live donkey mascot at their convention in Denver? His name is Mordecai!

  12. Jim L. Says:

Per haps B.Obama considers himself a vehicle. What do you think will happen
if he is not elected. There will be unrest and instability like this country has not seen in decades.Riots have already been promised, the police are preparing for that to happen. The stock market is as stable as water.Marshal
law would need to be declared. In the midst of all that what better time for another round of terrorist attacks.Would Obama prevent such attacks or prevent the powers that be within the government from doing the fantastic job they’ve been doing of protecting us?

  13. Kite Okoh Says:

Stefen–we are agreed. I am very opposed to an Obama presidency–for many reasons–and yet it is puzzling to me that his oratory skills and following have caused a lot of AC speculation….that is the kind of stuff folks did with calling some Russian leader the AC or Ronald Reagan–based on his 3 names having 6 letters, or all the other unscriptural speculation trains of the past.

With all due respect to all who do this—doing this is why we come off as “cooky” and turn off many in the Church who SHOULD be avid students of the endtimes!

  14. diana Says:

I did not think that Joel was trying to say that B.O. is the A.C. He had Karl Marx in that mix too and we all know he was not the A. C. I thought that he was just pointing out that there is alot to B. O. that is most undesirable and that he is someone who God may allow Satan to use to bring about certain world conditions that will be favorable for the rise of the A.C.

Sometimes I wonder if any Christians in Germany (or any part of the world for that matter) thought that maybe Hitler was the A. C. He certainly had many characteristics. We know that he wasn’t but yet God still allowed Satan to use him in such a way that brought world conditions around to a point where the nation of Israel would be born.

I do not believe that thier are coincidences either and especially during this election. God will bring about the leader that will fullfill what needs to be fullfilled. Be that McCain or Obama. I hate to see what will happen in this nation if Obama is elected but if it happens we can be sure that our Lord has a plan. All things work together for good for those who love God and are called acording to his purposes! The church grows in persecution. Perhaps we will actually see and experience real persecution in this nation (not that i WANT to be persecuted) and many people will be saved because of it, to the glory of God!

I allso do not believe obama is the AC. How ever I believe he was sent by god or lucifer (I do not know). To prepare america for the fullfillment of prophecy. Those who ride the fence will be drawn one way or another.
I know this is doom and gloom. But its time to face the facts we as a country will not be the same ever again who’m ever is elected.
I have listend to people on the christian radio say there will be no recovery from this financial fallout. If it comes down to the end me and my family will have to trust god for everything.

  17. nancy Says:

    Diana,
    Amen to everything!

    lee,
I agree…GOD wants us trusting HIM for all…we stay humble and vulnerable to HIS SPIRIT when we are not in complete control (whether real or imagined)

In hebrew baruch means blessed, barak means lightning, flash. Whatever BHO is, it is obvious he is a patological liar. He gets miljons from overseas donations, of which nobody knows from whom, arab states including iran are backing him. Libyan dictator Ghaddafi says he is a muslim and muslims should back him. I think he is not AC, but he is his frontrunner. His job is to detsroy America as we know it and prepare the way for AC power.
May God on Israel help America!

  19. gavriel Says:

just an explanation to my earlier comment please see:

BHO:n grandmother has confirmed he was born in Kenia, not in Hawaiyi

This is how I choose to view this election……………..
If McCain is elected president, PTL!, we will be here to fight Satan another day! And if Obama is elected, PTL!, we will be closer to ‘going home’ than we thought ;-)

  21. Brian Says:

I do think BO exudes the spirit of antichrist. I too do not think he is the AC, but we know that there are many ACs around in the last days. I do find it interesting that all of BO’s “Progress” and “Hope” posters have a satanic pentagram on them! Curious, no? It did not get much play in the press (of course), although Michelle Malkin did a blurb on it over the summer.

  23. el gallo Says:

As I noted in the discussion forum, God’s fulfillment of prophecy is always perfect, but usually surprising. I do believe Obama could be the A.C., and discuss my reasons it in the forum. I am not dogmatic, but in these times, we have to consider all possibilities. For instance, the Bible makes it clear the AC is the “Assyrian.” Is that literal, or metaphorical, or symbolic? If literal, why does the Bible also call him Pharaoh? Bottom line is, if we get too strident about eschatological opinions, then it seems we are like the Jews Paul condemned, who spent their time arguing geneologies, while the world cried for the gospel.

  24. Jeremiah Says:

El Gallo, I was looking at a picture of Obama the other day and as soon as I saw him the name “Pharaoh” came to me. It was one of those God moments when you know it was Him and not yourself. Obama is absolutely led by the spirit of the Antichrist! I can’t say he is the AC, but he sure has the spirit of it.

  25. jorge Says:

Anyone who favors abortion is an AC.

  26. Gideon Says:

    El Gallo,

Well said! I absolutely agree with you. I keep reminding everyone that completely dismisses the fact that Obama could be, not is, but could be the AC that no one will know for sure until the Abomination that causes desolation.

  27. nancy Says:

    El Gallo,
    I agree also!
This is why I’m still holding out for Prince Charles!

If he is, we’ll know it soon enough. I can see him as one of the 10 kings who give their power to the beast. I’m beginning to think the “beast” may be the unseen world power that all of we Christians are painfully aware of. It’s obvious that some dark force is controlling the power’s that be & the power of the church has been scattered. We have no voice or power. We are held to daily ridicule. This, I think, is the beginning of desolations. I’m strongly suspecting we entered the tribulation period on Rosh Hashanah, Sept 29, 2008. I don’t believe in a pre-trib rapture, which to me is a deceptive teaching to keep the church from being prepared to endure the tribulation. If they don’t believe it’s started because they’re still here, they’ll end up compromising with evil because things aren’t working out the way they though they were supposed to.

I could, of course, be totally wrong but I can’t help but think we have entered into the climatic fulfillment of days. Ever since the election I have felt a sense of darkness & suffering among most people. It’s not suffering like pain, but an inability to relax & enjoy themselves. Everyone is so tense. The left is raging even though they won this great victory. They really want to shut us up once and for all. The right, I think, is digging in & preparing for foul weather.(at least all the conservatives I know are) It’s interesting times. Take care of your families.
