Joel’s Art
First of all, I want to ask everyone’s forgiveness for a bit of self-focus here. I have rarely mentioned on this blog that I make my primary living as an artist. My work doesn’t normally fall into the category of anything that anyone here would likely have any desire for, but I recently started a series of paintings that I wanted to share with readers of Joel-Trumpet. This series will be based on classical and ancient Christian images. I age and distress the images to create what I am calling “frameable artifacts”. So far, I have only posted one piece, but the link is here if you are interested. Thanks all.

Very nice!!! I love the aging effects that you have created. Beautiful results.

Joel, this is absolutely beautiful! I love it! I love Rennaisance art - it was the best thing about Italy when we went - well that and the food, ha ha! And I love old things, so the aging of your painting is so appealing. How long did it take you to paint and finish this one? Is this the first in a series? Can’t wait to see more of your work!
Praise God for giving you such a wonderful talent!

Thanks all.
Hi Lisa,
I hate to reveal my “secrets’, but because the art is antiqued, there is a little more room for some “looseness” if you will. As such, it is technically a bit less detailed than I normally make efforts to attain. That being said, I piddled on it for a couple weeks. But I hate to say that. It feels better when I say that I slaved over it for three years.
But the technique of doing it on burlap is something that I’ve developed.
Bless ya, Joel

I am in awe! That is way too cool, Joel. More, more!!!

I’ve always loved biblical art, but when I searched online, I was never able to locate some of the incredible biblical art I remember seeing in bibles when I was growing up. I’m guessing it’s a symptom of our society, so I’m glad to see your interest in it Joel!

Joel,
You are a man of many talents and never cease to amaze me.
I also wanted to mention that I have continue to gain knowledge about the evil teachings of Islam. I am spreading the word to others in hopes of awakening people that have no clue.
Thanks for the blessings Madeleine7. God Bless You and all your loved ones!

That is incredibly beautiful!
I’m also an artist. How in the world do you do gold leaf?

Tazia, Glad you like it. Your stuff looked very cool as well. I sent you an e-mail about Gold Leaf.
Gus, Thanks much. Keep it up. those who are awake must try to wake everyone else up. But sometimes its hard to wake up those in a coma.
Armageddon, Cheers bro.

Hi Joel,
Very nice…I dabble in wood burning a bit but I cheat and trace patterns onto the wood first. I need a good representation of the Dan 2 image/statue to use on a little project of mine. You got anything I can use online?
“But sometimes its hard to wake up those in a coma.”
Oh so true that statement is. Some of the RRE people just will not see regardless of how clear the scriptures are that we show them.
Peace,
Seeker

Hi Seeker,
That image is so funny. You can always tell when a prophecy book was written based on the physique of Neb’s statue. Check it out:
19th Century Lithograph (Normal strong physique)
1950’s Image (Notice the 1950’s Jack Lalane like physique)
1990’s (Steroid using Gadiator)
Let me see if I can find one in one of my newer books. It gets worse.

I actually kind of like Mr. Steroid…lol…The representation appears accurate; head is gold, arms/chest silver…etc. That is what I am looking for, Mr. Steroid might do fine, thx. The RRE group are always quick to point out that the arms and chest were silver representing Media and Persia. I always point out that the belly and thighs are brass so who was the belly and who was the thigh…Anyway I wanted a visual I can taunt them with…lol.
Peace,
Seeker

My favorite is Jack Lalane.
Joel, God has blessed you with talent, brother. Praise God!

I use the Jack Lalane image in my upcoming DVD series.

DVD series? I don’t remember hearing about that before. That’s pretty exciting. Is it a documentary, or more of a scripture study? When will it be released (projected)?

Hi Quickstrike,
DvD is of a seminar that I did at Maryville Baptist Church just outside St. Louis. Four sessions plus a extended Q&A. Should be out in just a few weeks.

Hey Joel,
What a pleasant surprise! I had no idea you were an artist, and a good one at that. Excellent work, indeed, and I look forward to seeing more.
